Affordable Family Law assistance

Going to Court can be nerve-wracking

Nobody gets married expecting to go to court. Now, your family is in turmoil and the only way to fix it is with legal paperwork. It’s likely  scary and confusing, and you aren’t quite sure what to do.

You can try to figure it out on your own. And certainly, you should. Go to and check it out. But, it can be very time-consuming to do all of the legal research, and the consequences of making a mistake can be devastating. For some, hiring a lawyer can be out of reach financially. There is another option – legal technicians. Me!

I am here to offer you a different approach.

What can I do for you?

My role is to offer you knowledgeable legal assistance as you navigate all of the ins and outs of your legal situation. A legal technician is not a lawyer. We have licenses from the Washington State Bar Association to practice law, but there are a few limitations. First, we’re limited to family law only, and we have been steeped in that area of law by both practice and education. I have worked in family law for several years, now, and have an extensive understanding of the legal process.

Assist with preparing filings

I can help ensure that your documents are court-ready. I will walk you through all of the specifics of what forms to use and how to format everything you will be submitting to the court.

review your current case

I can look at the documents you’ve already prepared, and assist you with making changes or filing additional items as needed. I can also help with responses to court documents you have received.

legal advice

The legal process can be confusing and intimidating. I can assist you with understanding each step of the process, what you need to do to be ready and how to present the information the court will need in your case.

I can attend mediations with you, just as a lawyer can. I can zoom to court with you for hearings, and prior to that, I can prep you for what you should say in the courtroom. You needn’t feel alone.

A Different Approach

Many people think that there are only two choices for navigating the legal process – hire a lawyer or go it alone. That is no longer true.

I offer a collaborative approach, where you have access to the expertise of someone who understand what will happen as you navigate the courts, and can offer you advice and support as you resolve your legal issue.
